Zoom integration guide
The "Able Software" app on the Zoom App Marketplace
What it does
The Able Platform gives your team an AI assistant that works with the tools you already use. Connecting Zoom lets the assistant list your own Zoom meetings and file your own cloud recordings and transcripts into your private workspace, so it can summarize and search them for you.
The integration reads only the data of the person who connected it. It never posts, schedules, edits or deletes anything in Zoom.
Requirements
- An account on an Able Platform application (your organization's Able workspace).
- A Zoom account. Cloud recordings and transcripts require a Zoom plan that includes cloud recording; on other plans the integration still lists your meetings.
- If your Zoom account is managed by an organization, its Zoom administrator may need to pre-approve the "Able Software" app in the Zoom App Marketplace before you can authorize it.
Connect Zoom
- Sign in to your Able application. Click your avatar in the top-right corner and choose Account Settings, then open Connections in the left rail (the direct address is
/account/connectionson your application's host). - Click Connect an account, search for Zoom and continue.
- Zoom opens its own sign-in and consent page. Review the permissions and click Allow.
- You return to the Connections page with your Zoom account listed as Working. That is all: no keys to paste, nothing to configure.
An administrator can also connect a Zoom account for the whole application from Admin → Connections; that connection is then available to the application's assistants for the recordings of that account.
Use it
Open the assistant with the AbleClaw button in the top bar (or the chat icon in the left rail) and ask in plain language, for example "list my Zoom meetings from this week", "file the recording of yesterday's class" or "summarize my last Zoom meeting". The assistant fetches the transcript first (it is small and fast), and the audio or video only when you ask for it.
Permissions requested
user:read:user— your name and email, to label the connection.meeting:read:list_meetings,meeting:read:meeting— your own meetings.cloud_recording:read:list_user_recordings,cloud_recording:read:list_recording_files— your own cloud recordings and their files (transcript, audio, video).
All permissions are read-only and user-level. The app requests no account-wide or administrator permission.
Disconnect
- In the Able Platform: avatar (top right) → Account Settings → Connections, open the Zoom connection and choose Turn off or remove it. The stored tokens are deleted immediately.
- In Zoom: open the Zoom App Marketplace → Manage → Added Apps, find "Able Software" and click Remove. The platform detects the revoked access on its next request and marks the connection as disconnected.
Recordings and transcripts you asked the assistant to file stay in your workspace until you delete them or delete your account.
Data handling
Tokens are stored encrypted; data is encrypted in transit and at rest; Zoom data is used only to perform the task you asked for and is never sold, shared with third parties or used to train AI models. Details are in our Privacy Policy; deletion requests go to privacy@ablesoftware.io.
